Management System for the Use of Chemical Reagents

2024-08-06

1. We should follow the principle of both facilitating use and ensuring safety, manage and use chemical drugs well, and strengthen safety education.

2. Chemical drugs must be stored according to their chemical properties, and flammable, explosive, highly toxic, and corrosive substances must not be mixed. Chemical drugs should be stored in dedicated cabinets with dedicated storage rooms; There are conditions such as shade, ventilation, moisture resistance, and light avoidance; There are fire and theft prevention safety facilities.

3. All drugs must have clear markings. Labels with unclear handwriting should be replaced in a timely manner, expired or unlabeled drugs should not be used and should be handled properly.

4. All test drug containers must have labels, and the name, specifications, and concentration of the packaged drugs should be indicated on the container labels; Reagents without labels or labels that cannot be recognized should be treated as dangerous goods and carefully handled after re identification. They should not be thrown around casually to avoid serious consequences. If the drugs placed in the laboratory are not used for a long time, they should be stored in the drug storage room and managed uniformly.

5. Chemical containers should be sealed to prevent air leakage and deliquescence. Chemicals that are prone to changes when exposed to light should be stored in dark glass containers or light shielded containers, and the packaging and quality of the chemicals should be regularly inspected.

6. We need to strengthen the management of fire sources. Fire sources are strictly prohibited around and inside the chemical storage room; The fire source in the laboratory should be kept away from flammable and explosive materials. When there is a fire source, do not leave people.

7. Flammable and explosive materials stored in the laboratory should be protected from light, fire, and electricity. A reasonable storage amount should be determined for flammable and explosive materials stored in the laboratory, and excessive storage is not allowed. The packaging containers should be well sealed. Flammable and explosive reagents should be stored in iron cabinets (with a wall thickness of at least 1mm), and there should be ventilation openings at the top of the cabinets. Chemicals that can decompose, burn, or explode when in contact with water, such as potassium, sodium, phosphorus trichloride, phosphorus pentachloride, fuming sulfuric acid, sulfur, etc., are not allowed to come into contact with water and are not allowed to be stored in damp places.

8. The procurement and transportation of dangerous goods shall be handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the public security department and the transportation department. Highly toxic, radioactive, and other hazardous materials should be stored separately and managed by a dedicated person with double locks. The drug cabinet storing highly toxic substances should be sturdy, secure, and have a sound and strict registration for collection and use.

9. Regularly inspect hazardous materials to prevent spontaneous combustion and explosion accidents caused by deterioration or decomposition. Containers, materials, waste residues, and wastewater containing highly toxic substances should be properly disposed of.

10. Do not borrow drugs. When borrowing drugs for special purposes, approval and signature from the leadership must be obtained.

11. The containers for using chemical reagents must be separated, with one container for each type of reagent and no mixing allowed.

12. The use of organic solvents and highly volatile reagents should be carried out in a well ventilated area or in a fume hood. Under no circumstances should organic solvents be heated directly with an open flame.

13. When using chemical reagents such as strong acids and bases, they should be operated and stored according to the prescribed requirements.
