- Pharmaceutical Formulations: In the pharmaceutical sector, TCP acts as an efficient solubilizer and enhancer, improving the stability and bioavailability of drugs. It also functions as a dispersant and emulsifier in colloidal and emulsion formulations, stabilizing drug dispersion systems and enhancing drug absorption efficiency.
- Metal Cleaning Agent: TCP possesses high surface activity and solubility, effectively removing oxide films and grease from metal surfaces, such as aluminum alloy, ensuring a clean and bright appearance. Consequently, it is frequently employed as a metal cleaning agent, particularly for aluminum alloy treatment.
- Other Applications: TCP also finds use as an analytical reagent and solvent for nitrocellulose. Additionally, it can be blended into gasoline as a vehicular fuel component, enhancing fuel performance and quality, while reducing emissions of primary pollutants like carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons.

However, it is important to note that TCP may pose certain health and environmental risks. It can enter the human body through inhalation, ingestion, or dermal absorption, causing severe irritation to mucous membranes, the upper respiratory tract, eyes, and skin.
