Method for making ozokerite
2024-12-03
The production methods of ozokerite can be mainly divided into industrial production and homemade methods.
I. Industrial Production
The industrial production of ozokerite primarily adopts the refining method, with specific steps outlined below:
Material Preparation: Utilize wax residue from the purification and dewaxing of petroleum as the raw material.
Vacuum Distillation: Subject the wax residue to vacuum distillation.
Deasphalting: Perform deasphalting using propane (or acetone).
Dewaxing, Deoiling, and Bleaching: Utilize mixed alcohol as a solvent to undergo dewaxing, deoiling, and bleaching processes, ultimately yielding ozokerite.
II. Homemade Floor Wax
The homemade method for floor wax is relatively straightforward but requires attention to material proportions and safety measures. Here is a common homemade floor wax recipe:
Material Preparation:
- Paraffin Wax: Acts as the primary component, providing hardness and gloss.
- Turpentine: Enhances glossiness and fluidity.
- Olive Oil: Protects the floor and prevents drying and cracking.
- Essential Oil (optional): Adds fragrance and enhances user experience.
Heating the Paraffin Wax: Place an appropriate amount of paraffin wax in a pot and gradually heat it until it melts. A water bath method can be employed to avoid overheating the wax by direct contact with a flame.
Adding Other Ingredients: After the paraffin wax has melted, sequentially add turpentine, olive oil, and essential oil (if used).
Mixing Evenly: Thoroughly stir the mixed materials to ensure complete integration of all components.
Cooling and Solidification: Pour the mixture into a mold and allow it to cool and solidify naturally.
Usage: Once the wax has fully cooled, remove it and apply it evenly to the floor using a soft cloth or mop. After it dries, lightly wipe it to make the floor appear glossy.
Please note that homemade floor wax may not match the quality and effectiveness of industrially produced products and poses certain safety risks. Therefore, during the homemade process, be cautious and avoid accidents. Additionally, when using homemade floor wax, conduct a small-scale test first to confirm the absence of adverse reactions before applying it over a larger area.
In general, regardless of industrial production or homemade methods, producing ozokerite requires adhering to specific steps and precautions. In industrial production, strict control over raw materials and process parameters is necessary; whereas in homemade preparations, attention must be paid to material proportions and safety operations.
