Product details
effect
Firstly, diacetone alcohol can serve as a good solvent. It can dissolve many organic substances, such as fatty acids, resins, paints, coatings, rubber, plastics, etc. Due to its good solubility, diacetone alcohol is widely used in various industrial fields, such as chemical industry, coatings, inks, plastics, etc. Secondly, diacetone alcohol can also serve as a surfactant. It can reduce surface tension, making it easier for liquids to wet solid surfaces. Therefore, it is widely used in fields such as cleaning agents, emulsifiers, dispersants, etc. In addition, diacetone alcohol can also serve as a reaction medium. It can serve as a solvent for alkaline catalysts such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, promoting the progress of esterification, acetals, ketones, and other reactions. Meanwhile, it can also serve as a reducing agent and participate in the reduction reactions of compounds such as ketones and aldehydes. Finally, diacetone alcohol can also serve as a stabilizer. It can stabilize the structure of certain compounds and prevent their decomposition or deterioration. For example, it can stabilize certain drugs, food additives, etc. In summary, diacetone alcohol is a multifunctional alcohol solvent with good solubility, surface activity, reaction medium, and stabilizer properties. It has broad application prospects in industrial production and scientific research.
stability
1. Property description: A white or slightly yellow transparent liquid with a fragrant aroma. Soluble in water; Ethanol; Ether and chloroform are unstable and decompose when they react with bases or during atmospheric distillation. Long term storage at room temperature is prone to polymerization.
2. This product has low toxicity and is strictly prohibited from ingestion. Operators should wear protective equipment.
3. Chemical properties: Diacetone alcohol contains carbonyl and hydroxyl groups within its molecules, exhibiting the chemical properties of ketones and tertiary alcohols. When it reacts with alkali or is heated above 130 ℃, it decomposes, producing 2 molecules of acetone. Heating with sulfuric acid or trace amounts of iodine will dehydrate and produce isopropylacetone. Reacts with sodium hypobromite to generate 2-hydroxyisovaleric acid. Catalytic hydrogenation produces 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol.
4. This product irritates the eyes, skin, and respiratory mucosa. Enters the body through the respiratory and digestive tracts, affecting the nervous system and damaging the liver and stomach. Inhaling high concentrations of vapor can cause pulmonary edema and even coma. Long term exposure can lead to dermatitis.
5. Exists in tobacco leaves, burley tobacco leaves, spice tobacco leaves, and smoke.
