Product details
Tinuvin® 1130 is a BASF light stabilizer. Yellow to light amber viscous liquid, suitable for water-based and solvent based systems. Has high efficiency in UV absorption, high temperature resistance, and extraction resistance. Widely used in fields such as coatings. Hydroxyl functional groups can react to reduce mobility. The concentration of use depends on the situation and can be combined with other light stabilizers. Improve product weather resistance, provide stable protection for materials, and meet different application needs.
Tinuvin® 1130 is a high-performance light stabilizer developed by BASF. Here are some of its main features and related information:
Basic attributes:
Chemical name: 3- (3- (2-H-benzotriazole-2-yl) -4-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenyl) - propionic acid polyethylene glycol 300 ester;
CAS numbers: 104810-48-2, 104810-47-1, 25322-68-3;
Appearance: yellow to light amber viscous liquid;
Dynamic viscosity (20 ° C): 8300 mPa · s;
Density (20 ° C): 1.15-1.19 g/cm ³;
Flash point: 216-220 ° C;
Solubility: soluble in polar and non-polar solvents, insoluble in water.
Performance advantages:
Wide applicability: It can be used in both aqueous and solvent based systems, and is easily emulsified in aqueous systems.
Efficient UV absorption capability: With excellent spectral coverage in the UV-B and UV-A regions of ultraviolet radiation, it can effectively absorb ultraviolet radiation and prevent coatings and materials from aging and degrading due to UV exposure.
Good resistance to high temperatures and extraction: This makes it particularly suitable for fields such as automotive paint and industrial paint that require high weather resistance, and can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments and long-term use.
Reactivity: Its hydroxyl functional groups can react with melamine and isocyanate crosslinking agents, reducing mobility and improving stability in coatings.
Application areas:
In terms of coatings, it is widely used in automotive coatings, industrial coatings, architectural coatings (wall, floor coatings, etc.), wood coloring coatings, heavy-duty maintenance and ship coatings, glass and ceramic coatings, etc.
Other fields: It can also be used in products such as adhesives and sealants that require weather resistance.
Usage suggestion:
The concentration during use depends on the dry film thickness and the required level of protection. It is generally recommended that the concentration be 12.0-6.0% (relative to the solid weight of the adhesive) when the dry film thickness is 10-20 µ m; When the dry film thickness is between 20-40 µ m, the concentration is 6.0-3.0%; When the dry film thickness is between 40-60 µ m, the concentration is 3.0-2.0%.
In order to achieve better weather resistance, it is usually used in combination with hindered amine light stabilizers such as Tinuvin 123 (for acid catalytic systems) or 292 (for two-component polyurethane).
